C.P. Company Just Made a Coffee Set With Alessi, and It's the Most Italian Thing You'll See This Year

C.P. Company has spent decades perfecting the art of the garment-dyed jacket. Now it wants to perfect your morning espresso.

At Milan Design Week 2026, the Italian sportswear institution quietly stepped off the runway and onto the breakfast table, unveiling a morning coffee set produced in partnership with Alessi — the family-run house that has been shaping Italian domestic design since 1921. It's the first time C.P. Company has extended its design vocabulary beyond clothing, and the result is a small object with outsized significance: a statement of intent from a label that no longer sees itself confined to the wardrobe.

The set is a study in restrained materiality. Crafted from polished stainless steel with the kind of matte, industrial finish that echoes C.P. Company's signature Mille Miglia and Nycra outerwear fabrics, the pieces — a moka pot, cups, and a tray — carry the brand's understated utilitarian codes without ever resorting to branding as decoration.

The Details Do the Talking

The goggle motif, that most recognizable of C.P. Company signatures, appears subtly, as a functional detail rather than a logo. The palette is deliberately austere: brushed steel, deep charcoal, the faintest suggestion of the brand's signature garment-dyed tones. Nothing shouts. Everything is considered.

That restraint is the point. Where a lesser collaboration might have slapped a logo across the side of a moka pot and called it a day, this one trusts the object to speak for itself — a philosophy that has quietly guided C.P. Company's best work for years.

Two Italian Institutions, One Shared Belief

This is not an arbitrary lifestyle play. C.P. Company's creative director, Leonardo Fasolo, has spent recent seasons reframing the brand as a design house rather than a fashion label, and the Alessi collaboration is the logical endpoint of that thinking.

Alessi, for its part, has spent a century collaborating with architects and designers — from Alessandro Mendini to Philippe Starck — to make everyday objects worthy of serious attention. The pairing is less a novelty than a meeting of two Italian institutions that share a belief in the moral seriousness of the well-made thing. Both houses understand that the objects we live with daily deserve the same rigor as the ones we wear.

Why Milan Design Week Matters

The cultural resonance runs deeper than the object itself. Milan Design Week has become the true proving ground for fashion brands seeking to claim design credibility, and C.P. Company's debut there signals a broader ambition.

Where the brand's recent collaborations — the ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 drops, the Manchester City fourth kit with Puma, the recurring One Block Down capsules — have kept it tethered to streetwear and sport, the Alessi set pushes into a different register entirely: the domestic, the ritualistic, the intimate. Coffee, in Italy, is not a beverage. It is a civic ceremony, performed standing at a bar or seated at a kitchen table, and to design for it is to claim a place in the daily life of the nation.

Who It's For

Not the collector chasing a grail hoodie, though they will want it. It is for the design-literate consumer who understands that a moka pot can carry the same cultural weight as a parka — the person who reads Wallpaper* and owns a Bialetti for reasons both practical and sentimental. It is for the C.P. Company loyalist who has grown up alongside the brand and now wants its sensibility in their home, not just on their back. And it is for anyone who believes that the objects we touch every morning deserve the same rigor as the clothes we wear.

Why it matters now is simple. Fashion's boundaries are dissolving. The most interesting labels of the moment — and C.P. Company is firmly among them — are refusing to be defined by category, moving fluidly between garment, sneaker, and now tableware. The Alessi set is not a merchandising gimmick. It is a declaration that C.P. Company's design language — technical, functional, deeply Italian — is elastic enough to survive outside the wardrobe.

If the coffee tastes better for it, so much the better.

今次係C.P.
